Simon is a Partner with over 15 years of commercial and M&A experience gained within industry and professional services.

Simon is a member of our Consumer sector team. He has a particular focus on the food & beverage industry, building on the eight years he spent delivering M&A and strategic financial planning projects at United Biscuits.

His recent transactions include advising Key Capital Partners on its sale of school meals specialist Alliance in Partnership to Sodexo; advising Palatine Private Equity on the secondary buy-out of CET UK; advising Rutland Partners on its acquisition of Armitage Pet Care; the management buy-outs of Addo Food GroupWestleigh Homes and Belfield Furnishings; and the sales of Steelite International to US-based PNC Riverarch Capital, Gardman to Rutland Partners, Sofa Brands International to a consortium of financial investors and Soreen to Samworth Brothers.

As well as being highly active on food & beverage transactions, Simon is the author of the Alantra Food & Beverage Fast 50, which identifies the 50 fastest-growing privately owned food and drink companies published annually in the sector's leading publication, The Grocer.

Simon also co-leads our presence in the East Midlands market with Justin Crowther, using his extensive connections with the region's food & drink sector businesses and intermediary base.

A chemical engineering graduate from Cambridge University, Simon joined United Biscuits and worked at a number of its food manufacturing sites in various financial roles before moving into a central M&A role.

Simon retains a keen interest in rowing (he did not quite make it into the University boat) even though he has two young sons who seem to prefer rugby to the river.
